Bernese Hound Dog Names

Because the Bernese Hound is not popular within the United States or Canada, not too many people have even heard of this fun, loyal breed. If someone happens to see a Bernese Hound, they will probably still not know to which breed they belong. These dogs are somewhat popular in their native Switzerland, but with the decline in numbers of recreational hunters or field trial enthusiasts, the Bernese Hound is beginning to fade away. 

There is one particular Bernese Hound that has made some waves in the show ring and in the field. Banditto, the Bernese Hound, comes from champion parents. His sire, ICH Acki vom Weinberg is a former world winner and his dam, ICH Audrey Lady Dorotte has her fair share of conformation wins throughout her career. Banditto is a typical breed representative and has been proving to everyone in Europe why you should not count the Bernese Hound out of the running when it comes to competing in the show ring. During his career, Banditto won best in show at the International Exhibition club show and became an International Exhibition Champion. He also is a Czech Junior Champion, Czech Grand Champion, Slovak Champion of Beauty and a CMKU Champion. Banditto was a world winner in 2012 and a winner of Central and Eastern Europe and winner of Special Young Show that same year. In 2013, Banditto won best in show and became a Club Winner earning his Club Championship. In his show career, Banditto has 2 best in show wins, is an 8 time best of breed winner, holds 12 CACIBs, holds 7 reserve CACIBs, has 21 CACs, 10 CAC CMKUs, 2 reserve CACs, is a 3-time National winner, and a 3 time best of junior winner. Banditto has also sired five litters producing a total of 37 puppies

Banditto’s breeders started their kennel Stribrny Permonik in 2007 and quickly fell in love with many of the Swiss hounds; their favorite, however, is the Bernese Hound. They brought home their first foundation female named Barnuka, or Czudla Silver Permonik, in August of 2007. Then, in April of 2008. Dorotka or Audrey Lady Dorotte was purchased from Lady Dorotte Kennels. Dorotka is the mother of Banditto. It was not until August of 2009 that they brought home their third female to add to their kennel. She came from Switzerland and is known as Terezka or Amarena des Orges de la Lizerne. In 2012, Terezka won first place becoming Top Dog in the VI FCI Group. She also earned Dog of the Year in 2012.
