Beagle Harrier Dog Names

Emmy, a Harrier Hound, competed in the 2018 Westminster Dog Show. She is from Marion Oaks, and has been and currently is featured on many social media sites and news outlets. In the Florida news, Ocala Star Banner, Emmy is once again featured because she was the Best of Breed at the New York City competition.

Emmy’s show name is Blythmoor Jump at the Chance, and her owners are Mike and Phyllis Gowen describe their Harrier hound as a dog who loves being in the spotlight. She has earned a lot of accolades in her show dog career, such as thirty-four best of breeds in various competitions. 

When you think of a famous Beagle who was in the spotlight for many, many years, you may think of Snoopy! Snoopy was first featured in Charles Schultz's famous comic strip on October 5, 1950 with his owner, Charlie Brown and friends. Snoopy grew into a huge icon who the world fell in love with. Snoopy is a very intelligent Beagle who is goofy, silly, loveable, and sometimes moody, especially with Charlie Brown.

Snoopy was also featured in the Peanuts movies. He not only was the dog of Charlie Brown, but was involved in many of the character's lives. His best friend was a yellow bird named Woodstock, and they spent a lot of time together on top of his red dog house. In addition to the comic strip which ran for fifty years, and the movies, he was also featured on merchandise. Today, there are reruns of the famous Peanuts Gang, and the holiday movies on DVD are very popular. You can also purchase clothing, accessories, and toys of Snoopy and all of the Peanuts' characters. 

Another famous Beagle is from a comic strip, as well. He is also a cartoon character. His name is Odie, and he is Garfield the Cat's sidekick. Odie first appeared in the newspaper on the 8th of August, 1978. Odie is Garfield's best friend, and he is compassionate, silly, sometimes a little mean, and sometimes smart. He is a little dopey at times. All of these character traits make people love the relationship that he and Garfield have. Sometimes he teases Garfield a little too much, but Garfield always forgives him and loves him in the end. The comic strip and movies make it quite clear that Odie will always be there for Garfield no matter what. They almost have a brotherly relationship!
