Barbet Dog Names

While the Barbet is not the most popular breed in the United States, they have definitely seen an increase in interest over the past few years. There has been a slight rise in the number of breeders in the United States and Canada including Northrock Barbets of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Stephanie Dixon of Northrock Barbets is dedicated to promoting the Barbet and serves as President of the United Barbet Club and is a member of Club Barbet Canada and the Barbet Club of America. On August 4, 2012, Dixon’s first litter of Barbets was born. She bred her female, Champion Bayport Coco Chanel or Coco for short to her male FCC Champion, Canadian Champion Barbugaulois Daragon or Dougy for short. There was a male in that litter that quickly stole Dixon’s heart and he was named Pascal. Pascal was registered with the Canadian Kennel Club and AKC’s Foundation Stock Service. He was then placed with his new co-owners Joshua Bandoch and Maria Rogacheva in the United States. 

Pascal, or better known in the dog show world as Champion Northrock’s Athos Pascal, has traveled throughout the United States and Canada. In July of 2015, Pascal earned his Canadian Kennel Club championship with Dixon. He then went back home to the United States to live with Bandoch and Rogacheva. On April 6, 2016, Pascal sired his first litter. He was bred to AKC, CKC and UKC Champion Neigenuveaux’s Emargarde or Claire for short. Claire resides at Hickory Tavern Farm Barbet. Claire had an illustrious show career before she retired to the whelping box. She is a multiple best in show winner and has traveled extensively throughout the United States and Canada. Claire was the first Barbet to win a best in show in North America. She won best in show at both AKC and UKC shows. There were eight puppies in Claire and Pascal’s first litter. Pascal’s second litter was born later that year on December 7, 2016. This time he was bred to Champion Hickory Tavern Secret Garden or Meg for short. These puppies were born at Anam Chara Barbet and there were again eight in the litter. Currently, Pascal is training to compete in agility and is enjoying his time at home. His favorite game is fetch and being a typical water dog loves to swim. Many times, Pascal has been used as a breed ambassador and his outgoing personality has endeared him to many of the people he meets.
