Awkward Dog Names

The iconic film kicks off when a group of puppies is stolen from a pet store. One of the pack is an awkward Saint Bernard puppy. The clumsy pup manages to escape the thieves and hides in the Newton family home. George, the father, does not want to keep the enormous dog. However, Alice and their three children all convince him to let them have the dog. They name him Beethoven because whenever one of the children plays Beethoven's Fifth Symphony on the piano the dog starts to bark to it. 

Beethoven starts to grow into a huge dog who bonds tightly with the family. Unfortunately, the Newtons decide to take the dog to a veterinarian for his vaccinations, but the doctor is unethical and tells them that Saint Bernards often have severe mental issues, and he is probably unsafe to have around the children. Sadly, the doctor only wants Beethoven because of his large head which can be used in an ammunitions test.

The doctor visits the Newton family's house for a home exam and pretends that the dog attacks him. The father decides to relinquish Beethoven to the vet for the safety of their children. Eventually, the family decides that they cannot live without their furry buddy, so they all rush to the veterinarian's office to get Beethoven back. During the visit, the dad notices that the doctor has no bite marks, so he is lying about Beethoven attacking him. The doctor refuses to give up Beethoven, so the family calls the police. A struggle starts to rescue their beloved pet and free the other captive dogs in the crooked doctor's clinic. At the end of the movie, the crooked doctor is arrested, and the Newtons are called heroes for rescuing all of the dogs in the doctor's care from cruel ammunitions experiments. 

In the film, Beethoven is played by a 12-year-old canine actor called Chris. Without a doubt, Chris's performance wins the audience's hearts. Who can not adore the big awkward Saint Bernard? Four new films followed the first Beethoven movie. An animated television series for children was also released in 1994. The character of Beethoven and all of the film remain family favorites.
